Dear Westwind Campers -

 

As you know, Camp Westwind is the ultra-popular JMP weekend that began 18
years ago.  It has continued to grow in popularity each year, and with the
growth in our program it has become impossible to place all of the people
who want to go.  For years we have had a first-come, first-serve policy,
which has resulted in some people actually driving their applications to the
coordinator's home moments after the applications were released.  Needless
to say, we are working on ways to allow increased participation in the camp
in the future, but for this year we have come up with an exciting way to
guarantee your spot at the 2008 Camp Westwind!

 

Currently, we have confirmed the arrival of 11 interns for the 2008/09
school year. These interns will serve Richmond, Mt. Tabor and Grant.  The
cost to Oya No Kai will be nearly $40,000 and without an auction forum to
raise money for these interns, Oya No Kai is brainstorming other ways to
secure this funding.  Hence, the following offer:

 

With your minimum donation of $1500* (larger amounts will gratefully be
accepted too!) by April 15, 2008 we will include 4 guaranteed tickets to
this year's Camp Westwind occurring on May 23 thru May 26.  With this
donation, you will be securing your participation in a time-honored JMP
tradition as well as supporting an integral part of the JMP education , plus
your donation amount (in excess of the actual cost of the trip) will be tax
deductible (as the law allows -- contact your tax advisor for details).
This is an incredible opportunity and we hope several families will decide
to contribute -- but this is a very limited time offer.  Applications to
Westwind will be available to the JMP community on April 18 and we need to
know how many spots to pre-reserve for our intern supporters!
